DESCRIPTION:Don't miss out on this special JBC meeting discussion on the change of A2L listed refrigerants.  \n\n\n\nCode is mandating that we switch the refrigerant used in air conditioning equipment from R-410A to a refrigerant with a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP).  Our manufacturers are looking at two different refrigerants: R454b and R32. Code is mandating that we switch the refrigerant used in our air conditioning equipment from R-410A to a refrigerant with a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP).  Our manufacturers are looking at two different refrigerants: R454b and R32. \n\n\n\nAlthough the deadline by code was bumped back to 01/01/26\, the original deadline was 01/01/25 and most manufacturers had already shifted production to equipment with the new refrigerant.  We expect this new equipment to be on the shelves in the fourth quarter.  Meaning\, what we are permitting today with the equipment information available today will likely not be the same equipment we install at trim stage.  We cannot permit with the new refrigerant equipment yet because the software that generates that paperwork has not been updated yet to reflect the change.\n\n\n\n\n\n                        \n\n\n\n\n\nJBC meets regularly with the building officials from counties and municipalities in the Greater Orlando region. Our goal is to create and maintain a constructive dialog to promote the timely exchange of information related to plans review\, permitting and inspection processes.
