Design and Remodel Council Monthly Meeting

Parade of Homes - PSG Construction Remodel Entry Tour

Join us for an off site meeting with a tour of PSG Constructions' 2016 Parade of Homes Remodel Entry and lunch!

About the Project:

Although open floor plans are the current trend, the downside can be a lack of personal space. PSG Construction’s 2016 Parade of Homes entry illustrates how it’s possible to embrace defined spaces without ignoring roomy, public spaces for entertaining.

The home may appear traditional from the exterior, but inside, a transitional style that appeals to many preferences transforms the home exceptionally well.

Dark finishes throughout the home have been easily and creatively lightened and brightened for a less dreary, stodgy appearance by painting them a soft white.  The transformation is dramatic.

White paint and finishes make a world of difference in the great room. One of three fireplaces in the home, the great room fireplace was updated with soft white paint and a new mantle.

Below: the great room before.

One of the most dramatic changes occurred in the kitchen. Soft white finishes and paint, along with state-of-the-art appliances, and an oversized island with quartz countertop, make the kitchen inviting and ultimately functional.

Set against a bank of windows, the sink affords a view of the beautiful back yard. Adjacent open shelving provides a welcoming contrast in the large kitchen.

The master suite is a stunning and light-filled retreat with dramatic hanging bedside light fixtures, padded headboard, and twin faux-fur covered benches.

Above and below: luxury details in the master bathroom include glistening chrome plumbing fixtures, a quartz countertop, rainfall shower head, and  light-reflecting floor tiles. An antique stand brings a refreshing contrast to the retreat.
