GOBA Foundation Announces 2025 Supported Charities

The charitable arm of the Greater Orlando Builders Association (GOBA), the GOBA Foundation has selected
Home Builders Institute as their focus charity, along with two additional charities to receive contributions in 2025. The Foundation also maintains an endowment that funds annual scholarships at the University of Central Florida and Valencia Community College.

Home Builders Institute (HBI) provides free pre-apprenticeship training to young people looking for a career path in the building industry. They also work within the construction industry to place students in apprenticeships and jobs after they complete the program.

Since its charter in 1985, the GOBA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, has raised funds under the direction of a Board of Trustees and donated more than $1 million to children and youth-related charities and endowments, including scholarships and in-kind donations.  Funds raised by the GOBA Foundation are mostly through the generosity of the GOBA membership that includes nearly 800 builder and associate members in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Foundation funds are primarily generated during two of GOBA’s signature events: the Annual Nine and Wine Golf Event at The Winter Park Golf Course, and the Annual Charity Clay Shoot. In 2024, the Foundation awarded over $65,000 to six deserving charities.

In addition to HBI, the Foundation has also pledged to support two additional local children’s charities and two colleges with cash and in-kind donations during 2025, including:

"As the charitable arm of GOBA, the GOBA Foundation is dedicated to making a lasting impact in our community," said Chassity Vega, GOBA CEO. "By investing in the next generation and supporting meaningful initiatives, we strive to create opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen the future of our industry and beyond."
